Welcome to Saratoga Custom HomesModular Built Homes - Custom Built Homes - Light Commercial

Welcome to Saratoga Custom Homes we are grateful that you have taken the time to learn a little about who we are, what we do and what we believe.

Simply put we are home builders who care.  We have been building and remolding homes in the capital region for over 20 years.  The passion started long before college with the teaching by the old world craftsmanship of my father.  ‘Do it right or don’t do it at all’ and ‘be a man of your word’.  These are the foundations upon which this business and my life have been built.  After graduating from Siena college I remained in the capital region and applied my knowledge to benefit the communities in which I grew up.  From a volunteer fireman, zoning board member, and parishioner at St. Paul’s church, it has always been important to be involved in the community.  Remember to get involved because you have no one to blame but yourself if it goes in a direction you don’t like!

Ask yourself what does ‘custom’ mean to you?  Most people and builders would say it’s exceptional professionals and craftsman using superior materials to create elaborate and beautiful homes at a premium price.  This is true but it is only half the battle.  When you work with trained craftsman who truly care building homes is the easy part.  I have learned there is another large and equally important part to this picture, people, families.  My very first project I bought from a gentleman who grew up in the house and now it had become run down.  He visited almost every day and would tell us the stories of his childhood growing up in that home as we worked.  I watched the excitement in his face as the project came together.  That was my first lesson that a home is much more than a house.  A home is family, friendship and love.  Every project I undertake I get to know the folks that I am building for.  I use that information to help them in the decisions that they need to make.  I hear all too often   ‘I would never build again that was a terrible experience’.  This should not be that way.  Yes there are a lot of decisions, yes sometimes they are difficult, but this is your new home it should be exciting!  I always tell my clients relax and enjoy the process we will get through this together.

Building a home is a working relationship between the home owner and builder.  This is a huge effort and a lot of money.  You should have confidence and trust in the builder you are contracting with.  That confidence must span all aspects of the relationship.  Sit down and “interview” your prospective builder.  Make a list of what is important to you when building a home both for the home and the builder.  Remember there is more to a builder than building a home.  Who are they?  What is their philosophy?  Do they listen, understand and learn?  What do their clients say?  Do they care or are you a number?  What does the local town building department say?

I would like to wish you the best of luck no matter who you choose.  I hope that the journey you are about to undertake is as exciting now as it will be when you move in.  Do your homework, understand your roles and responsibilities, have confidence in your builder and build your dreams!  Thank you for giving me your time and consideration.
